Description:
Armed with a license to kill, James Bond secret agent embarks on his first mission as 007 and must defeat an arms dealer in a game of high stakes poker in Casino Royale, but things are not they seem.
Review:
See on a cast and crew screening in London last week: I'm not a big fan of the Bond, but I enjoy it on a pure popcorn level and it was definitely one of the best in recent times. The tone is much stronger and more unpleasant than the Brosnan films, dates back more than Dr. No For your eyes only. The action sequences are brilliantly shot and edited for maximum impact and are some of the best of any Bond film. Martin Campbell, who also made Goldeneye, was an excellent choice for me, is one of the best directors of Bond. What this leadership surrender recent Bonds is the most realistic feeling: the exotic locations, fast cars, spectacular action, beautiful women and many other shades Bond are all here but this is beyond the exaggerated tone that marked as Die Another Day Yes, all franchise is based on a totally ridiculous idea and comedian, but the tone more serious and more difficult consensus-building, easy-edged works very well here. In this context, Daniel Craig gives an excellent performance as the mortgage. Ill be the first to admit that I have an eyebrow when I heard it was released, but actually make your own. It's hard to tell if it's better than any of the other effects: Connery and Brosnan was appropriate for the style of James Bond movies they were in. Here, as suits the overall tone of the film, Bond is much more of a sadist, a cold-hearted killer with very little sense of empatíae Craig, with his piercing eyes, fits the role very well. He is charming and funny when necessary and convincing in the action sequences. Violence is less cartoon-like and irreverent, with every punch, kick and throw looking like very painful. And the story is much more interesting than many a Bond film, the script will not win awards, but his constant inventive and intriguing. Although the film has enough of his fair share of action, the focus is on character and story and less on gadgets and pure implausibilidade. When there is a huge action sequence, this not to be missed: the largest movie shooting stopped ball, the poker game in Casino Royale, is as (or more) exciting and fun any prosecution and shootings. The only small complaint I have is a little too long to work: the film drags a bit at the end, and even help the tone of the film, did not hear enough of MU, Music Bond theme! However, large wheel performance of all concerned, with Phil Meheuxs excellent cinematography, Peter Lamont and production design always excellent and all the other high-level craftwork and departments Casino Royale technicians make an elegant evening and very enjoyable film.
